so we have a gallery building. and its lovely (although it needs a good spring cleaning). thank you so much to those of you who helped to build it. 3 weeks ago, it was a garage. Now, its a gallery. Mostly.

the next thing an art gallery needs is art. so we’re sending a friendly reminder to you, the artists and supporters of good, that tomorrow at 8:37pm is the last possible minute that we will be accepting art (not because we’re doing anything else but because come on, there has to be a deadline somewhere) so we look forward to seeing all your work and hanging it up.

to those of you who have already submitted your work, good job. to those of you who are not artists and signed up for the newsletter because you like good art…good job. to those of you furiously putting the finishing touches on the piece that will shine in our inaugural show, we’re sure you’re doing a good job and look forward to seeing you some time tomorrow.

We’ll have fliers ready to announce the grand opening group show, Warm Fuzzies, which I know you are all busy making stuff for while simultaneously looking forward to with an almost-unbearable anticipation. Let everyone you know (and maybe even a couple strangers) share your joy and expectation by giving them a flyer. You can pick ‘em up from the gallery starting Tuesday evening.

whew. in a whirlwind of demolition, rebuilding, tiling, sheetrocking and maybe a little beer drinking, good gallery was finally ready for a new coat of paint yesterday. thanks to everybody who braved frostbite (i wasn’t sure if my fingers were blue from the paint or from the cold) and left their cozy houses on a sunday afternoon to paint cracks and wield rollers and brushes and even hang upside down from the roof.

now we just need some art.

we’re looking forwards to demolishing the garage tomorrow. we need to make room for the new gallery.
